Carmela, gelangt zur Malerei in bereits fortgeschrittenem Alter, getrieben von ihren Gefühlen, Wünsche, Sehnsüchte, diese in Farbe zu tauchen, und auf Leinwände malerisch zu verwirklichen. Ihre Eindrücke der Natur, Landschaften sowie des menschlichen Körpers, gaben ihr die Basis ihres Schaffens. In Ihren Bildern drückt Sie immer wieder Ihre Sehnsucht nach Ihrem Geburtsort sowie dem Ort, wo Sie Ihre Kindheit verbringen durfte, KALABRIEN. Dies, ihr Heimatland, wo Düfte, Landschaften, Farben und eine ganz spezielle Lebenskultur gepflegt wird, diese Eindrücke findet man wiederkehrend in ihren Arbeiten.

Sie verlies Kalabrien mit 20 Jahren, und emigrierte in die Schweiz. Heute lebt Sie in Hinteregg, mit ihrem Mann, und ihren zwei erwachsenen Kinder. Die Farben in den Bildern sind von einer Intensität und Stärke, eben mediterran, und dies ist auch spürbar. Die Farben Ihrer Heimat erscheinen dann auch dominant, und durch die verschiedenen Techniken die die Künstlerin in die Bilder einfliessen lässt, wie Öl/Acryl, Bauwolle, Metall, Muscheln und Sand, um nur einige zu nennen.

Einige Bilder bekommen durch den Einsatz dieser Materialien auch eine dreidimensionale Erscheinung. Aber nicht nur Landschaften mit den für die Künstlerin typischen Farbkombinationen, sondern auch die Blumen od. Körper werden mit der persönlichen gestalterischen Finesse gearbeitet. Bei all ihren Werken lässt sie sich von Ihren Gefühlen leiten, und entsprechend Vielfältig sind auch ihre Arbeiten.

Nebst dem Malen, frönt Carmela einer weiteren Leidenschaft, dem Joggen. Da Sie ein Genussmensch ist, verbringt sie auch sehr viel Zeit in der Küche, und entsprechend vielfältig ist dann auch ihre Küche. Zu den bevorzugten Malern gehören, Monet, van Gogh sowie Kandinsky

Carmela è arrivata alla pittura in età matura, quando sempre più ha avvertito l’esigenza di portare alla luce le proprie emozioni e il suo modo di vedere e interpretare la natura, i paesaggi e le figure umane. Nella sua pittura emerge sopratutto la nostalgia della Calabria, la patria che ha lasciato per emigrare in Svizzera, dove oggi vive con il marito e i due figli adulti.

I colori non possono quindi non essere forti, tipicamente mediterranei, con la netta prevalenza del giallo. Seppure abbia frequentato artisti affermati e seguito lezioni di pittura, Carmela e un autodidatta e ricorre all’ uso di molteplici tecniche: olio e acrilico, cotone, metalli e foglie di piante di frutta.

Lo spessore del materiale utilizzato da un effetto tridimensionale a molti quadri della pittrice calabrese. Il primo piano di una gerbera rossa o di una calla bianca si alternano alle immagini sfocate di paesaggi come il terreno rossiccio della Spagna oppure il tramonto africano: la verde campagna toscana contrapposta alle crepe profonde di un terreno arido e senza vita.

 Nella vita reale, oltre a trascorrere molto del suo tempo a dipingere, pratica sport (jogging) e si diletta in cucina. Frequenta mostre a musei e ama le opere di Monet, van Gogh e Kandinsky. Quando parla, sopratutto di sé, lo fa di getto e con slancio.

The strong colours of nature

Carmela developed her painting skills at a mature age, when she felt the need to bring more light to her own emotions and her way of interpreting nature, landscapes and human beings. In her painting the nostalgia for Calabria emerges, which she left as she emigrated to Switzerland where she now lives with her husband and two adult children.

Hence the colours have to be strong, typically Mediterranean, with a neat prevalence of yellow tones. Although she has been taught by a famous artist, Carmela basically is an autodidact, using various techniques and materials such as oil and acryl, cotton, wool, metals and leaves. The thickness of the material used creates a three dimensional effect to many pictures of hers. For example the close up view of a blood orange Gerbera, of a white Calla Lily alternate with the blurry images of landscapes like the reddish terrain of  Spain or an African sunset, and a green countryside of Tuscany contrasts with a barren land.

In her leisure time, besides the many hours she spends painting, Carmela is an active runner and passionate cook. She visits expositions and museums regularly and is in love with those art-works from Monet, van Gogh and Kandinsky. When she talks, all about herself, she does it with vigour and the spontaneity that renders her both sympathetic and attractive.
